My app-cab driver says the fare is higher than the app showed
Check before you pay extra. The app, not the driver's phone, decides the fare.
One traveller reported a T2 ride quoted at 289 rupees in the app. The driver showed a screenshot of a higher fare on his own phone, but the trip had not been ended in the app. Fares can change for real reasons, such as a longer route you asked for, waiting or tolls, and the app shows those.
Say this
“Let's end the trip in the app and see the fare.”
In Hindi: App mein trip end karte hain, wahin fare dikhega.
Do this
- Look at your own app. Is the trip ended? What total does it show?
- Pay what your app shows, by the method you chose in the app.
- If the driver insists on more, stay calm and don't hand over extra cash. Report it in the app straight away. One rider got the difference back as app credit.
- If you feel unsafe, move toward other people and call 112.
Keep in mind
Extra stops, long waits and tolls can be legitimate. Look at the fare breakdown in your app before you decide it's a trick.
Use this instead
The in-app receipt and the app's support or report option.
