What Each Month Delivers#
January — Fog, Smog, and Republic Day#
Morning flights at IGI face fog-delay lotteries; pack layers because 4°C mornings turn into mild afternoons. The upside: the Republic Day parade (Jan 26) on Kartavya Path is one of India's grandest spectacles, with ticketed seats available through Ministry of Defence channels weeks in advance.
February — The Month to Book#

April–June — Heat Season#

July–September — Monsoon#
Delhi turns green, the sky washes clean, and air quality hits its yearly best. Rains come as intense 1–2 hour bursts, usually late afternoon. August adds Independence Day (Aug 15) flag ceremonies at the Red Fort. September's retreating humidity pairs with dramatic post-rain light — the best photography conditions of the year.
October–December — Festival Season Meets Smog Season#
October brings Navratri/Dussehra effigy burnings and pleasant evenings. Diwali (October or November) lights up every market — but firecrackers spike pollution dramatically for days.
