Recommendation:
- iPhone / eSIM phone: buy Airalo or Jio eSIM before boarding — land connected, book Uber at the gate. This is the cleanest path per recent eSIM at Delhi airport reports.

Paying Without an Indian Bank Account: UPI One World#
Foreign passport holders can get UPI One World, a prepaid PPI wallet issued at IGI counters after baggage claim — passport and visa verified, load INR via foreign card or cash, and you receive a UPI ID that scans at most shops, cafes and metro QR tickets.
