- Hook near New Delhi station / Paharganj / Connaught Place — "Where you going, which hotel?"
- Panic — "That area closed today — strike / marriage season / flood" — often shows a fake closure list.
- Rescue — "Come to tourist office, government will fix" — auto to a lane office with Delhi Tourism-like boards (not government — see Delhi Tourism official never solicits on street).
- Desk — polite "officer" with lanyard offers new hotel + car package ₹12,000–25,000 — books you at commission hotel + car driver at cut.
