Old Delhi — medieval, intense, unforgettable#
Narrow galis, wholesale markets, the best street food on Earth. Sensory overload by design. Metro: Violet Line (Jama Masjid) or Yellow Line (Chandni Chowk).
Rest of Delhi — where real life happens#
South Delhi (Hauz Khas, Saket, Defence Colony): upscale cafes, malls, safer nights. West/Central (Karol Bagh, Rajouri Garden): mid-range hotels and shopping streets. East (Mayur Vihar, Preet Vihar): residential, across the Yamuna.
NCR — don't stay there for tourism#
Gurgaon/Noida are corporate satellite cities 45–90 minutes from every monument. Only relevant if your employer books the hotel or you're attending a Gurgaon event.
